Crime & Criminal Tracking Network System

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has launched the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) to unify police operations across states.

This initiative builds upon the learnings from CCIS and CIPA, creating a seamless and integrated system to enhance policing at the Police Station level.

CCTNS leverages e-Governance principles to establish a nationwide IT-enabled infrastructure for real-time crime investigation and criminal tracking. This system plays a crucial role in strengthening internal security by enabling faster and more efficient law enforcement.

The forensic van will be useful in providing forensic assistance in solving crimes, collecting and analyzing evidence.

This van will be able to collect blood, DNA samples, and evidence needed in rape cases.

Along with scientific experts and support staff, the van will have special forensic kits for detection of explosives and cybercrimes as well as CCTV. This will make the evidence-gathering process more efficient and accurate.
